Tumbling Tots
Heather, our wonderful nanny, takes the boys to Tumbling Tots at our neighborhood rec center once a week. I tagged along last week to see some of the boys tricks. Unfortunately, Max wasn't feeling in the tumbling mood that day, so I only have a couple of videos of Alex in action. I'll try to get some of Max next time around (I hear he is better on the balance beam than Alex!)

6 to 9 Month Update
I can't believe it has been three months since I have updated the blog! It's one of those things where I keep saying "This weekend I'll update the blog" and the weekends come and go and apparently so do the months!
It has been so incredible watching the boys grow, develop new skills, and display more of their unique personalities over the last few months. Alex is the mover and shaker of the two. He's been scooting backwards for the last three months and just last weekend he finally started crawling forwards! I was really starting to wonder if he would just go straight to walking. So far he just crawls within a small comfort zone, but we know it is only a matter of time... We also learned that the phone will make him crawl to just about any where:) More than crawling, Alex loves to pull himself up on to anything - including Max! Right now Max is my sit-n-reach baby. He's not interested in crawling or even being on his tummy. Max is perfectly content sitting in one spot for 30 minutes. He will play with things only within his reach. If he can't reach it- he loses interest. I'm compeletly okay with having one baby being mobile and the other relatively stationary because I know that will soon change! Both boys are chatting up a storm, but Max is definitely our talker and grunter! Pretty funny stuff watching Andy and Max in their grunting match.
The boys have been troopers with the whole teething thing. Max now has his bottom two teeth and this top two teeth in. Alex has the bottom two in and three coming in on top. They pretty much chew on anything and everything that is presented to them- including one another! The boys have also been doing well eating solids. Tonight they devoured their baby version of turkey tacos!
Naps are still are biggest challenge! So if anyone has any tips- please feel free to share! The only time Alex really cries is when we put him down to sleep. Now, even when we lay him on the changing table he cries until his realizes we are not trying to put him to sleep.
With summer finally here, the boys are definitely getting out and about more. Our beloved Elizabeth takes the boys to Book Babies at the library a couple of times a week where they get to play with other babies. They've gone to the zoo and swimming. They even have had their fair share of Bonnie Brae Ice Cream.
We have our 9 month check up with the doctor this Friday. I still can't believe they are 9 months old. I have a feeling the next three months will go by even faster and be even more exciting! I hope to do a better job blogging in the coming updates, so please stay tuned!

Mother's Day
Happy Belated Mother's Day to all the moms out there- both experienced and new! It definitely was a whole new experience to celebrate Mother's Day as a mom. It made me realize that I still don't really think of myself as a mom. My mom is the real mom. Nancy's the real mom. They know exactly what to do to take care of us and how to make us feel better. It's hard to think of myself in that same capacity for Max and Alex. In any case...I truly love being a mom and every day I feel more and more blessed to have Max and Alex as my little guys!!! Below is some pics from my first mother's day celebration!
Blog Catch Up...
Max and Alex turned 9 months today!!! I don't know if it's the milestone or the extraordinary amount of sugar I have had today- but I am super-motivated to update our blog.
I was not sure where to pick up from, but finally decided with Father's Day pending I would pick up from Mother's Day...so here we go...

Our little babies are growing so fast!
Today is the boys six month birthday, and I'm in total disbelief!!! I just can't believe that they are a half a year old! According to one book I read, they would now be considered pre-toddlers. It is amazing how much things have changed in the last couple of months- the boys can play all by themselves in their excersaucers, they can sit in their bumbo's with out their heads bobbing around, they have started on solids (rice, oatmeal, bananas, avocados, and sweet potatoes), and are starting to sit up unassisted. And the most wonderful thing off all- they are taking scheduled naps during the day at the same time!!!! Thank you Elizabeth!!! We've even had a couple of nights where both boys slept through the night. Max is pretty consistent about sleeping through the night. However, Alex still likes to enjoy a midnight snack every once and a while. Andy and I cooked our first meal together this last weekend since last spring (I couldn't stomach the smells of cooking in my first trimester). With the weather getting nicer and daylight savings, Andy is also getting back into running with some added resistance (two babies and a double stroller). We even managed to get out to brunch this Sunday with some friends. We can finally say without complete exhaustion that LIFE IS GREAT!!! It is so much fun figuring out new ways to make them laugh and seeing signs of their individual personalities. We can't wait to experience all the wonderful things to come in the next few months! Is it too early to start planning their first birthday party???? I think it will be here faster than we think!

We've got a few more pics and some videos that I will post soon!

Happy Valentine's Day
Encouraged by the last picture we posted, we thought we would be able to get a cute Valentine's day pic of the boys. Well, the pic below was the best we could do :) In any case, we enjoyed a nice family Valentine's Day with snow, cupcakes, and the olympics! February 14th also marks the one year anniversary of the day we found out I was pregnant. I think I remember that day more clearly than the day they were actually born. It is so hard to believe that a whole year has gone by!
