The boys are home!

After a successful stay in the Rose Medical NICU, we were able to bring both boys home at the same time on Tuesday, September 29th. We are so thrilled to have the boys at home. It finally feels like we are real parents!

We appreciate the Rose NICU so much for taking such good care of our boys and for all the things they taught us on taking care of newborn babies. The transition from hospital to home would not have been the same if it weren't for all the valuable hands-on lessons we got while at the hospital.

Max and Alex Update

According to the doctor this morning, Max and Alex are doing "fantastic" and are "super stars." They are already making their parents proud :) We are still waiting on the boys to take all of their feedings from a bottle before we can bring them home. Both boys have now picked up the suck-swallow-breathe reflex; however, they still have times when they would rather sleep than eat. The nurses predict that the boys will be home some time this week. We are hoping this is the case because their nanaji (grandfather) and masi (aunt) are coming to visit them this weekend.

Max now weighs 5 pounds 3 ounces and Alex weighs 4 pounds 8 ounces.

Max and Alex's Room

We can't wait to bring home Max and Alex and show them their room. With mom on bedrest since 20 weeks, the boys nursery would never have been possible with out the talent and hard work of the boys wonderful grandparents and aunts!

About this Blog...

After following a couple of friends' family blog sites, Andy and I decided to create one for our own expanding family. As most of you know, Andy and I have not been very involved in the online social networking phenomenon (Facebook, My Space, Twitter, non-work related e-mail :). However, we have two sets of grandparents that are counting on regular updates of their grandsons, so I'm going to do my best to update the blog regularly. This is easy for me to say now while I'm in the hospital on bed rest. We will see what happens when the boys arrive and I start work again!
