Visit with Santa
We took the boys to go visit Santa. I was sure that they were going to be upset sitting on Santa's lap; however, we were quickly able to distract them. I guess they also knew Santa was going to see if they were naughty or nice. Not sure how often we will be taking the boys to the mall- it took 3 people and 2 cars to get the boys and all their stuff to the mall!

Max and Alex Update
We went to the doctor this last week for Max and Alex's 2 month checkup. The boys are doing great! Both boys grew quite a bit, and Alex has now caught up to Max and was actually bigger (both length and weight) than Max. Max weighed 11 pounds 1 ounce and measured 22 and a quarter inches long. Alex weighed 11 pounds 4.5 ounces and measured 23 inches long. We have actually packed away all of their 0 to 3 month clothes and have now moved on to the 3 to 6 month outfits! Mommie always loves new clothes even if they are not for her! Both boys also got their first round of vaccinations- 6 shots each. There were probably more tears in mom's eyes than Max and Alex during their vaccinations. I blame it on hormones :)
The boys are still eating every 3 hours but will usually skip one feeding at night- it's too bad they don't skip the same one so we could get more than 2 hours of sleep at a time. They are definitely a bit easier to manage though. Both Andy and I have taken our turns taking care of both boys by ourselves and no damage has been done so far! We are also starting to get rewarded with smiles and babbles. And for those of you who differentiate Max and Alex by Alex's hair, you may have to find something else to identify them by as it seemed like overnight Max's hair has starting growing in. It will be interesting to see if his hair looks similiar to Alex's or not.
Other than that, we are enjoying the holiday season and snowy days. With the help of NanaJi and Meeni Masi, we actually managed to get our Christmas Lights and Tree up. We'll post some more pics up soon.

Here are some pictures from Thanksgiving that Meeni Masi took! Thanks for taking the pictures, uploading them to my computer, and making me take showers :) Meen- what would I do without you!

Happy Two Month Birthday Max and Alex!
Today Max and Alex are two months old. It is so hard to believe they have already been here two months. While our two month check up is not for another two weeks, we can feel the boys growing heavier and longer. It's fun when you have to retire another outfit because they have grown out of it. Here are a couple of latest pics of Max and Alex and one of the last winter storm we got!

Grandpa and Aunt Trish's Visit
We had a nice, but short visit from Grandpa and Aunt Trish. Thanks for helping out with the feedings and letting mom and dad get some much needed rest. We wish we got some more pictures, but we will be sure to snap a whole bunch at Christmas time!

Our first snow!
We got our first big snow storm of the season this week. We got 15 inches of snow! Hopefully, this isn't a sign of the winter to come. The boys went outside in the snow for the first time when we went to their doctor's appointment. We (including the pediatrician) were all surprised to find out how much weight the boys had gained since their last appointment. Max now weighs 8 pounds 10 ounces and Alex is catching up at 8 pounds 5 ounces. Milk really does do a body good!

We are one month old!
We can't believe Max and Alex are already one month old! They have grown so much. It's hard to believe they were as small as they were in the NICU. With Alex's cheeks filling out a bit more, they are starting to look more and more similiar. Although, we think there is a chance that Max may go with blue eyes and lighter hair just like his dad. Alex looks like he will stay with dark eyes and dark hair like mom.
Max was baby A in utero, and the one I was convinced would be the more attention needing of the two (based on the ultrasounds and him trying to kick my cervix open :) However, so far Max is Chillax Max where as Alex definitely is a bit more demanding and enjoys the attention.
Both boys seem to be recognizing voices and their vision seems to be improving as they are definitely interested in checking things out. We can't wait to see what they do this next month. Hopefully, it will involve some longer nap times :)
Note: The second row of pictures are of Max and the third row is Alex.

Thank You Nonnie Ma!
Thank you Nonnie Ma for taking care of all of us for the last 2 1/2 months. We don't know how we would have made it without you, and we can't wait for you to come back in December. We love you!

Trying to figure it out...
So we've been home for almost two weeks now, and the boys are doing great! Since we have been home, we have been to the pediatrician twice. The boys are right on track with their eating and weight gain. Max is nearly 6 pounds and 6 ounces and Alex is now 5 pounds 12 ounces. With the boys weighing a total of 12+ pounds at a gestational age of 38 weeks, I cannot imagine how I would have carried them inside of me to full term! The boys have now outgrown the preemie sizes and their newborn clothes are fitting them quite snugly :)
Andy and I are quickly adjusting to meeting the needs and demands of these little guys. They don't need much, but what they do need (food, burps, and diaper changes) they need often (every 3 hours)! We are amazed how most of our day and night consists of nothing else but making bottles, feeding the boys, changing the boys (often twice in one go), burping (Max likes to hold on to his burps for a while), and doing dishes and laundry. Occassionally, we get to sneak in one hour naps here and there! So, as you can tell, it's been hard to update the blog. However, we recognize that there is only a short period of time when they need us like this and we are happy to do it.
I will be posting some new pictures of the boys soon (hopefully today, but they seem to be calling the shots around here right now :)

The boys are home!
After a successful stay in the Rose Medical NICU, we were able to bring both boys home at the same time on Tuesday, September 29th. We are so thrilled to have the boys at home. It finally feels like we are real parents!

Max and Alex Update
According to the doctor this morning, Max and Alex are doing "fantastic" and are "super stars." They are already making their parents proud :) We are still waiting on the boys to take all of their feedings from a bottle before we can bring them home. Both boys have now picked up the suck-swallow-breathe reflex; however, they still have times when they would rather sleep than eat. The nurses predict that the boys will be home some time this week. We are hoping this is the case because their nanaji (grandfather) and masi (aunt) are coming to visit them this weekend.
Max now weighs 5 pounds 3 ounces and Alex weighs 4 pounds 8 ounces.
